The washroom experience at a service station is a familiar one – hand dryers are often slow and unreliable. Welcome Break wanted to put a stop to this by replacing their existing hand dryers with Dyson Airblade™ technology. They wanted to improve the washroom experience for their customers, using the fastest way to dry hands. A total of over 500 Dyson Airblade V hand dryers have been installed in Welcome Break washrooms around the UK by 60 Dyson Field Service Engineers. Visitors to Welcome Break can now dry their hands hygienically in just 10 seconds.

This video illustrates the key elements of the Dyson Airblade V hand dryer installation. It has been edited for time, does not show the entire installation process and is not intended to be a substitute for the printed installation guide supplied with the machine. All electrical installation and repair work should be carried by a qualified electrician.

At Dyson, we see paper towels as hopelessly old-fashioned. Powered by the Dyson digital V4 motor, the Dyson Airblade 9KJ is our fastest, most energy-efficient hand dryer yet. While doing so, it is also up to 99% cheaper to use than paper towels. After a three-year development phase, our latest hand drying technology consumes only 9.1 kJ of energy per day in Eco mode. The Dyson Airblade 9kJ hand dryer is backed with a free Dyson 5-year guarantee. In the unusual event of a breakdown, the Airblade 9kJ’s main body can be replaced safely, quickly and easily without the need for a trained technician or maintenance person. Please ensure power to the Airbalde 9kJ has been switched off/isolated before any work is carried out. Step 1. Using the tool supplied, remove the two security screws and washers from the base of the machine. Step 2. Carefully remove the main body from the mounting bracket. Step 3. Please contact the Dyson helpline to arrange collection of your old main body Step 4. Remove the filter unit from the main body. Step 5. If the mains cable enters the machine from the side, it will be necessary to remove the relevant entry tab from that side of the machine. Step 6. Insert the new filter into the filter unit. Step 7. Locate the new main body onto the mounting bracket. Step 8. Fit and fully tighten the two security screws and washers into the bottom of the machine using the tool supplied. Step 9. Locate the filter unit into the main body. Make sure that it clicks securely into place. Step 10. Switch on the mains power supply and test.
